I don't know about you but this is my favorite time of the year. NCAA Basketball 11 Tournament time baby. People are saying there's no great team in college basketball right now and that the field is the weakest it's ever been. I disagree, while NCAA basketball is lacking "star" power this year. There's no one player who clearly stands out but there are a lot of competitive teams..maybe more so than in recent years. I believe this is going to be one of the most balanced and evenly matched fields in quite some time and should make for some great games.
I like the traditional powerhouses Duke and UNC(seems to be peaking at the right time). However, I believe this years champion will be the Ohio State Buckeyes. I'm an Ohio guy. I might be a little biased here but I've had a chance to watch this team almost every game this season. They're one of the most complete and balanced teams I've seen in college basketball in quite some time. They can beat you inside and from the outside.
John Diebler, William Buford and David Lighty can flat out stroke it from the outside. Jared Sullinger is the best big man in College basketball. He has a variety of post moves and he's a monster on the boards. When you throw in Freshman's Aaron Craft and DeShawn Thomas you have a recipe for a champion. Oh and don't sleep on Dallas Lauderdale he's another reliable big guy who can provide tough interior defense if needed.
I like this field but my pick to win it all is Ohio St.
